Suitable for complete beginners and all ages, you need no prior experience to join this fun abseiling class and you’ll be able to take it at your own pace as your confidence grows. Meeting your highly qualified instructors in the village of Halls Gap, you’ll head to some ideal abseiling locations within the beautiful national park. You’ll receive thorough instruction and safety briefings before you take to the rock with all the required equipment provided. Your guides will select suitable descents starting with 8m and progressing anywhere up to 25m or more if you’re feeling ready. Take in those magnificent panoramic views of the Grampians with its impressive cliffs and lush forest for an outdoor adventure you’ll never forget.

Abseiling is a great adventure that is open and adaptable to anyone and everyone! A little timid of heights? Don't fret, our experienced guides will make you feel as comfortable as possible, you will learn to trust us and our equipment, lean back over the edge and let gravity do the work!
We have a range of abseils available depending on the age and desired level of challenge, from 8m to 30m, there's something for everyone!

What to Bring
We will supply all the safety gear you’ll need for your abseiling adventure but there are a few things to bring along to make your day more enjoyable and comfortable.
- Clothing - Dress in comfortable clothes that will allow you to move around but aren’t too baggy.
- Hat
- Sunglasses
- Sturdy walking shoes/boots - There will be a bit of a walk to the cliff where we will be rock climbing. A decent pair of walking shoes is essential.
- Warm jacket/jumper - If it’s cold, these will keep you warm while you are belaying
- Rain jacket if weather is inclement
- Sun cream
- Water bottle
- Snacks if you’re likely to get hungry
Please note that all minors (under 18 years of age) participating in this activity must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the activity.
This experience is suitable for those aged 6+
Changes to reservations for tickets can be made until 2 days prior to the date scheduled. Reservations may be re-scheduled by the operator of the activity due to reasons such as weather, minimum participation requirements, mechanical issues or other interruptions beyond their control.

Our experiences range from gentle guided walks with breathtaking views, to hair raising adventure activities for all ages and abilities. We offer guided walks, canoeing, Stand Up Paddleboarding, rock climbing, abseiling and mountain biking as well as a range of uniquely crafted experiences all in either half, full or multi-day packages.

History
Our story began back in 1989 when a small group of friends begun organising social adventure trips to the area. Like all good things, these trips grew in size and popularity, leading to a need to charge a fee to continue sustainably. The ethos of these trips was based around sharing experiences, learning, connecting people together, and with the places they are visiting. Although Absolute Outdoors has changed forms and evolved significantly over the years, our ethos remains the same - to share, learn, experience and grow.

Absolute Outdoors' main focus is delivering high-value adventure activities. With half or full-day adventures you can canoe, SUP, rock climb, abseil, mountain bike or hike with us to explore our great region.

Hiker Support
The Grampians Peaks Trail runs through our backyard. We love sharing our home and want to be a part of everyone's GPT journey, from first-time campers to experienced through-hikers. Because of this, we have developed a range of hiker support services to assist anyone walking the GPT. We offer transport services for one way hikes, water and equipment drops to campsites as well as a range of rental safety equipment.
Equipment Rental and Sales
The Absolute Outdoors shop in the centre of Halls Gap is the perfect spot to pop into before any Grampians Adventure. Pick up any last-minute things you need, hire a range of equipment, get some good local knowledge or even just pop in for a chat! We rent out a range of hiking equipment from tents to sleeping bags and communication equipment like PLB's or satellite phones. We also stock a great range of apparel and equipment specializing in hiking, trail running, and rock climbing.
